Have always had a fascination with technology and tinkering with gadgets. They provide great satisfaction in building something from nothing or repairing a gadget that would have been otherwise discarded. It is with this curiosity that I found myself exploring the world of engineering and gravitated towards communication as the great information age was developing right in front of me and I didn’t want to miss out!
Naturally, being driven by the family patriarch to always do better is the main driver in the development of my ambition. However, the ethos of who you are, coupled with great educators throughout my evolution, cannot be overlooked. Both pushed me when I needed it most and provided a dose of reality that life is a constant fight if you want to exceed.
My greatest accomplishment is undermined by speaking of it, quite honestly. It is my humility. In today’s world that I seem as a weakness, though as it pertains to my personal internal accomplishment, humility is core to who I am. My ability to perform and deliver without fanfare nor the need for any spotlight is a great accomplishment for me. I’ve been told that 'making it look too easy' isn't appreciated by people who don’t understand what you have accomplished. Many times, I find important people in my life,
Truth and honesty. All we have in this world is our integrity, which can only be achieved by honest dialog and holding each of us accountable to always be truthful. Naturally, there are tactful methods in which information can be presented; sometimes, empathetic bedside manners are needed. However, it never dulls my fever for the truth.
I was tasked to lead a large project where its success meant over $3M of net savings to the organization with a potential upside of $2M year of EBITDA margin if executed flawlessly. Needless to say, I was able to lead and inspire the team and lead negotiations with customer stakeholders and employees alike to accomplish the goal and hit the upside within tight timelines. It is a feat that I truly believe few would have accomplished.
Persistence, curiosity, and humility have helped me throughout my life. They are the cornerstone in building trustful relationships and created a fabric of like-minded colleagues and friends throughout the industry and within my community.
